Germany has more expertise and they were preferred, but that was never an assurance of a win on Saturday. It simply didn’t occur, but Uruguay had hopes of beating Germany for the 1st time in 82 years. On the flip side, Germany concluded in the top 3 for the 11th time in World Cup history.
Uruguay’s Forlan remained positive by stating that Uruguay still surpassed anticipations. He brought up that it’s spectacular to be among the top 4, and had anyone asked them if they’d like that at the start of the World Cup, they would have. It’s surely something to be proud of that the team performed above and beyond what was expected of them.
