The Cleveland Browns have had only 1 winning year over the last 7 years and they won only five games a year ago. Holmgren was assistant coach of the San Francisco 49ers from 1986 to 1991. He accepted the head coach position for the Green Bay Packers from 1992 to 1998, then of the Seahawks from 1999 to 2008. He’s noted for his work in molding quarterbacks such as Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Steve Young, and Matt Hasselbeck in the course of his time with these 3 teams. He has become identified as 1 of the best coaches in the league. He retired from coaching at the conclusion of the 2008 year, worked as an analyst for NBC’S coverage of the Super Bowl in 2009, and accepted the job to be president of the Browns at the conclusion of 2009.

The Cincinnati Bengals are arriving off a year in which almost all of it went their way, while the Pittsburgh Steelers have numerous questions. Cleveland can be competitive versus the other two teams, though the Baltimore Ravens are going to be difficult.
The beginning portion of the year is going to determine if Cleveland has a shot to be a surprise squad in 2010. They start up with winnable matches vs the Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs. If they can somehow start 2-0 they may turn some heads and get some people in Cleveland to trust there is hope for the 2010 year.
